Garry/Diana Fletcher Biography

Garry and Diana Fletcher have been involved in ministry together either in a full time capacity or in a support role for the past 20 years. Garry is a 1986 graduate of RHEMA Bible College, where he majored in teaching, while Diana worked for the school in the admissions department for six years. After college, Garry left a very “hot” job in the foundry where his grandfather and father had worked and assumed a position in their local church, just outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Garry served Coweta Victory Christian Center as a Youth Minister, Music Minister, and as the Associate Pastor for six years. In 1991, Garry accepted an Associate Pastoral position with Faith Christian Family Church located in the tourist mecca of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The couple settled into life in a tourist town and once again served as Youth and Music Ministers.

In 1995, Garry and Diana sensed God calling them to the next ministry opportunity. The couple put their newly built house up for sale and in true “Jed Clampett” style, moved to the Kansas City metropolitan area in an old R.V. loaned by Garry’s grandfather. It didn’t make much sense in the natural, but they were determined to follow God’s prompting to pioneer a new non-denominational fellowship, which became Cornerstone Family Church. Garry and Diana took jobs with Sprint, located a school to meet in, and started preaching the Word. After pastoring for three and a half years, Cornerstone Family Church was merged with LifePointe Church, another non-denominational start-up work in Overland Park, Kansas. Garry and Diana assumed leadership roles in the new church body and worked there faithfully until departing in December of 2004.

Garry and Diana continued to sense God’s nudge and calling back to pastoral ministry. Plans were made and a building sought for a new start-up work. An opportunity arose to purchase a former barn turned into a sanctuary with accompanying old farm house converted into classroom space. Although someone in the church suggested that “The Glory Barn” would be an appropriate name, The Worship Center moniker was chosen and a core group of families has been meeting there since Easter of 2005. The Worship Center is located at 6303/6305 W 159th Street, in south Overland Park. That’s half a mile east of 159th and Metcalf and just west of the Blue Valley High School.

Garry and Diana have been married since 1987, live in Overland Park and have four young “wonderful and well-adjusted children.”
